The Luxembourgish AFR scheme offers funding to candidates interested in pursuing a research project, allowing either full or part-time employment at the university. The research proposal should be designed together with Dr Berryman, a flavour for appropriate topics can be found in the rest of this website.
Candidates of any nationality may apply for a doctoral position. Candidates will have to spend more than 50% of the time in Luxembourg, under an employment contract with the University.
The AFR scheme promotes public-private partnerships (AFR-PPP) by paying an increased incentive for research projects carried out in collaboration with the private sector. It is not compulsory for all university projects to have an industry tie-in, but if you do have a commercially motivated research project and you want to collaborate with the university then this is a good way to fund it.
Further details are at the FNR website, alternatively contact Dr Berryman by email.
The University of Luxembourg is an equal opportunity employer.
